Our Story

In late 2001, right after the 9/11 attacks, my wife Amy and I decided that the money we were investing into our retirement funds would be better spent on starting a business. I started buying mostly vintage bikes and fixing them up. We decided that selling on the Internet, rather than in a traditional “Brick and Morter” setting made more sense. From those simple beginnings National Powersports was born. Since we were selling bikes to many people who didn’t have an opportunity to see them in person first, we developed a very detailed system of checks, services and detailing that revealed way more than what was typically done by a traditional dealership. This allowed our customers to know the exact condition of what they were buying, even if they were 3000 miles across the country.

Although our emphasis in the beginning was on vintage bikes, soon the requests for modern bikes started to come in from around the world. People wanted to buy from us, even if we didn’t currently have what they were looking for, because of how thorough we were. The depth of information that we revealed about our bikes was something that was not being done, even in traditional dealer locations. This allowed us to begin selling all types and years of Motorcycles, ATVs, Snowmobiles, Scooters and Watercraft. Since starting, we have expanded our location many times and the growth continues to this day. In 2006 we moved to 701 Riverwood Drive, Pembroke NH to a 15,000 square foot facility. In this location our first true retail store was opened. In 2013 we moved to our current 55,000 sq/ft location.

To this day, we are not a traditional dealership. None of our team is paid on commission. Our shop is set up to duplicate our on-line buying experience. Because we sell so many vehicles on-line, walk-ins are not our only avenue for sales. There is no high-pressure for the people that visit us. Our pricing is extremely competitive because we work on a smaller margin and turn our inventory more than the industry standard. When you factor in the depth of servicing/detailing and warranty that we provide, we hope you will find our bikes to be some of the best values available.

National Powersports' success is due to one primary factor. The first line on the company service statement is "Tell the truth". That is the guiding principal for everything that we do. At the end of the day, it’s not just about making money. It is about building a company that has integrity and value to our customers. I believe with all my heart that if you do the right thing, the bi-product is a healthy company. The group of people who love motorcycles are like family. I only sleep well if I know that everybody gets treated well and is told the full truth about the vehicle they are purchasing.

National Powersports has received many business awards, including being featured in Entrepreneur Magazine. We have been on the list of Top 100 family businesses by Business NH Magazine for several years as well. But honestly, the only award I’m interested in is a customer who is happy with their purchase.

Do you ship bikes?
We are able to ship bikes nationwide to any of the lower 48 states. Shipping rates can be found in the shipping section of our listings.
Are the pictures of the actual bike being sold?
Yes. We take the photos right here in our store of the actual vehicle being sold.
I saw the bike on eBay, can I buy it cheaper there?
No. The reserve prices in our auctions are the very same as what you see here on our website.
Do you trade or buy bikes outright?
Yes we do. We would be happy to consider your vehicle on trade or to purchase provided you are able to bring the vehicle to our shop if we are able to agree on a value.
Do you finance?
We work with a number of local and national lenders and are able to offer financing to most of our US customer's on most bikes. Please see the financing section of our listings to apply.
Where are the bikes located?
All of the bikes are located at our shops either in Pembroke, NH or Nashua, NH and can be viewed during regular business hours.
Is the title clean?
Unless otherwise notated in the Title section of our listing all bikes have clean titles with no salvage history.
I'm from California, can I buy a bike from you?
California law requires that unless the emissions sticker on the bike specifies that it is California compliant, any bike must have at least 7500 miles on the odometer. If one of our bikes is not California compliant we will say so in the title section of the listing.
What's your bottom line?
We are different than most dealers. We don't mark the bikes up and then negotiate down. We don't think that it's fair to have different pricing for different people, so we just price our vehicles right at our bottom line. Everybody gets the same deal. We know that our customers are smart and have done their research. We are confident that you will find our pricing to be extremely competitive and our bikes an extraodinary value when you consider our comprehensive condition reports and full disclosure policy.
What other charges do you have?
You don't pay an "Admin" or "doc fee" charge when you buy groceries do you? That kind of nonsense is ridiculous to us. We do not charge any other fees or tax. If you are a NH resident you will have to pay $27 to the state of NH for the title on any bike 15 years of age or newer. Out of country sales may incur additional fees only to cover custom's documentation or shipping of documents.
What type of payments do you take?
We accept certified bank checks, money orders, bank to bank wire transfers, and of course cash in person. Paypal and credit cards may be used for the deposit, but NOT for the full amount.
